what’s new

Manufacturer for site-specific art and culture projects, focusing on research, concept, strategy, and production. Thereby arise unique experiences and environments for Cities and People to share artistic approach.

We conceptualize and organize site specific artworks & exhibitions, private & public events, festivals & urban interventions. The applied working methods enable both an experimental setup as well as proven methods to interweave art and culture in everyday city lives. Working with both private & public institutions, faktory is breaking new ground by adopting different perspectives and methodologies to shape urban space. faktory was founded by Aileen Treusch.

Approach

We operate through a network of partners who deal with the temporary or permanent design of environments and experiences.

Our projects are inspired by architecture, design, sociology, poetry, economics, gems and music. They investigate different contexts and connections between art and culture, urban sphere and city societies. Topics such as art & culture concepts for cities straddling architecture and urban development, living environments as well as the correlation of digital and analog space have been the center of interest.

Press & Prizes

Together with our Clients and Collaborateurs we enrich everyday citylife. Our work has been awarded and published on numerous occasions.

Aileen Treusch

„Art in the city creates friction that has an extraordinary potential for creativity, culminating in a plurality of processes and activities. Art makes cities.“

Aileen Treusch is primarily concerned with creating cultural spaces for urban societies. She studied art history, social sciences and economics focusing on Italian renaissance, architecture, urban planning and institutional critique in Heidelberg and Frankfurt. In 2015 she completed a masterclass at the Herbert Foundation in Ghent that explored the art historical and critical comprehension gained from a sustained focus on a single artwork. After working at different institutions such as the Städel Museum and Liebieghaus in Frankfurt am Main she founded faktory – a platform for exhibitions, studies and interdisciplinary projects at the interface of art, science and urban development.

Aileen Treusch is commissioned to advise organizations, municipalities, investors and planning offices or initiates own projects. She is a member of the board of the art association Mañana Bold and a member of the Cultural Commission of the City of Offenbach.
